Credit Line

General

Arta Pay can be used to buy from galleries, auction houses, and platforms worldwide. It’s tailored for art, luxury, and collectibles, and purchases can be made from verified businesses that sell in these categories. Arta Pay is not available for purchases from individual collectors or non-verified sellers.

Monthly payments are scheduled at the time of purchase and drawn automatically each month to make it easy for you. You will receive a reminder email 10 days prior to each repayment, and you can change your payment method by logging into your account.

Repayments can be made via ACH, credit card, or debit card. If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, there is a 3% surcharge to cover card fees.

In general, you can buy any art, luxury, or collectible available for sale from verified sellers. We are currently unable to support purchases in the following categories: • NFTs • Vehicles

You can have multiple Arta Pay purchases at one time (from the same or different sellers) as long as you are within your approved Arta Pay credit limit.

You can apply to increase your Arta Pay credit limit at any time via your Arta Pay account online.

You can pay off your balance at any time with no penalty and no future monthly finance charges for that purchase. You can also pay additional amounts on your monthly payments to reduce the term of your credit line and therefore your finance charges. The monthly flat finance charge only applies while monthly payments remain outstanding.

Purchases

If you buy a work in a foreign currency, your purchase will be converted to USD (calculated at the exchange rate at the time you accept the contract) and your repayments will be made in USD.

Purchases above $100,000 may require additional steps. For items over $100,000, a sliding scale is applied up to a 50% minimum deposit, and we may have additional verification requirements around credit approval, storage, insurance, and security. Our current maximum purchase is an invoice value of USD $1,000,000 (which would require a 50% deposit, so a maximum financed amount of $500,000). Works or items valued above $250,000 will also require Arta to have physical security on the work (or a work of same value) and verified insurance.

Framing, shipping, installation, and similar costs can be included in the invoice price and can be paid with Arta Pay.

Managing your credit line

Your Arta account allows you to review your purchase details, available credit, outstanding balance, apply to increase your credit line, and view upcoming payments.

Once your purchase has been finalized, the deposit made, and your purchase confirmed and activated, you own title in the work. Arta Pay holds a security interest on the work until it is fully paid off; you own it, but Arta has the right to repossess the work should you be unable to make repayments.

You will need to keep the artwork insured as part of the Terms and Conditions of your purchase. While household insurance policies may cover in-home contents, specialist insurance is advisable for collectors with multiple works. Arta also offers insurance—learn more here.

You cannot resell the artwork until you have fully repaid the work. As part of your agreement, Arta Pay holds a security interest over the work until it has been fully paid off, which precludes clear transfer of title.

If your circumstances change and you anticipate difficulty with making a repayment, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss options. Please contact us at credit@arta.io
